今年的世大運7月在韓國光州舉辦，如果代表團成行，長庚醫療團隊除了派出運動醫學團隊外，也首次派出感染科醫師參與隊醫工作，協助降低選手感染的風險。
林口長庚醫院營養治療科營養師陳怡玲建議，勿選用生冷食物，如韓式小菜、冷盤等，同時避免食用路邊攤販有衛生疑慮的飲食、餐前正確洗手，在選擇制備食物時以有戴口罩的店家。
營養師提醒，平時要適度增加飲水、補充蒜頭、洋蔥、蕈菇類、十字花蔬菜，如高麗菜、花椰菜等，胡蘿蔔及水果的補充也要適度增加，有助維持較佳的免疫力。
林口長庚醫院感染科主任黃景泰指出，韓國MERS疫情尚未明確出現社區感染，主要疫區還是在當地醫院，如果選手發燒需後送，SOS專機單趟需要一百萬元、民航機三十萬、一般航班則較平價。
除了選手本身的自我防護之外，每天換洗衣物的衛生、選手房內的積極消毒也有必要。
手部清潔部分，儘量使用乾洗手、酒精洗手液、並勤洗手、比賽之外全程配戴口罩。除非有緊急外傷，會建議儘量避免進入當地醫院。
